Meet the Doctor
About Dr. Ashley Phuong
D.D.S., M.Sc. (Ortho), FRCD(C), Certified Specialist in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics
Dr. Ashley was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario. She completed her Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degrees at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, graduating in the top 5% of her class.
After dental school, she worked as a general dentist in Calgary, Alberta, for many years. During this time, she discovered how much she enjoyed helping people improve their bite and smile. This interest inspired her to pursue three additional years of full-time specialty training in Orthodontics at the University of Alberta, where she earned her Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree.
Today, Dr. Ashley has cared for thousands of orthodontic patients of all ages. She is proud to support families in Caledonia, Haldimand County, and nearby communities.
Professional Memberships & Achievements
Dr. Ashley has earned several academic awards, including the UWO Dental Alumni Society Student Award. Her research has been published in respected journals, including the Journal of Sleep Medicine Reviews and the European Journal of Orthodontics.
She is also:
- A fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCD(C))
- The President of the Ontario Association of Orthodontists
- An active member of the Ontario Dental Association, Canadian Association of Orthodontists, and American Association of Orthodontists
Life Outside the Clinic
When she is not helping patients, Dr. Ashley enjoys travelling and spending time with her husband and their two young boys, Owen and Carter.
